Does MeetNotes record in-person meetings, without internet in the room?

Yes. MeetNotes records a meeting in the room on your phone, with no internet needed while you record. The recording is kept on the phone and uploads when you are back online; the transcript and minutes are made after it uploads.

Recording happens on the phone. If there is no signal in the meeting room, keep recording as usual and tap Stop at the end. The meeting waits at the top of the Meetings list as "Recording not uploaded yet — Saved on this phone". Connect to Wi-Fi or mobile data and tap it to upload (how).

Good to know

  • The transcript and the minutes need the upload, so they arrive once the phone is online again.
  • Do not delete the app while a recording is waiting to upload: until then it exists only on the phone.
  • One phone records a whole table. Put it in the middle, nearest the quietest speaker (where to put the phone).
  • Want meetings kept only on your phone afterwards? See keeping a meeting only on this phone.
