Can students use it for free?
Yes, when the university covers it. We offer universities a subsidised rate based on the number of students, so the university pays one bill and its students record against it without paying anything themselves.
Do students need ChatGPT or Claude?
No. Connecting one makes it easy to ask anything about a lecture, but the quiz, flashcards, plain-language explanations and revision sheet are also built into the MeetNotes app.
Which languages does it work in?
MeetNotes transcribes 110 languages, including lectures that switch between two languages. Each student can have the notes, quiz and flashcards written in the language they study in, whatever language the class was taught in.
Do the notes add anything the lecturer did not say?
No. The notes and every study tool are made only from what was said in that recording: no outside facts, no extra examples, no formulas the lecturer did not give.
Can the university see what students record?
No. Students use MeetNotes for their own meetings too, so a student's recordings stay private to that student, even when the university pays for the minutes. The university sees how many minutes were used, never what was recorded.
Can we start with professors only?
Yes. Professors record their own lectures into the university's space and students read and study from them, so students do not need to record anything or have their own plan.
What about the university's rules on recording classes?
When professors record their own lectures, the recording is made by the person teaching, which fits most recording policies. Where students record, they follow the university's policy, and we set up the plan to match it.
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone, Android and Mac, with a web view for reading notes on any computer.
