To record a meeting on your Apple Watch, install MeetNotes on your iPhone (the watch app comes with it), sign in, and open the app on the iPhone once. Then open MeetNotes on the watch and tap Record. - On the watch, open MeetNotes and tap Record. A timer starts.
- Tap Mark when something important is said, so you can jump to that moment later.
- Pause and resume if the meeting stops for a break.
- Tap Finish. The recording is sent to MeetNotes on its own, even if you close the watch app.
- Read the minutes in MeetNotes on your iPhone, on your Mac or on the web.
A recording made before the watch was connected to your account is not lost. It is handed to your iPhone, which sends it for you.
Three faster ways to start
Opening the app and tapping Record takes a few seconds. When the meeting starts suddenly, these are quicker:
- Watch face complication. Add MeetNotes to your watch face or Smart Stack. One tap opens it and starts recording.
- Siri. Say "Record with MeetNotes".
- Action button (Apple Watch Ultra). "Record with MeetNotes" is also in the Shortcuts app, so you can put it on the Action button.
Use the watch as a remote for your iPhone
Sometimes the phone is the better recorder, for example on a table in the middle of a big group. Start recording on the iPhone, and the watch shows the same timer with Mark, Pause and Finish. You never have to pick up the phone in the middle of the meeting.

The watch is made for meetings where a phone on the table does not fit:

Tips for clear sound from the watch
- Keep your wrist up and uncovered. A sleeve or a jacket pocket muffles the microphone.
- Stay near the people talking. The watch picks up the voices closest to it best.
